Motorcycle Insurance Talk
Mike Roen is taking a few minutes to talk about a topic that nobody really likes to talk about but is very important: motorcycle insurance. It is important to take the time to not only understand the cost of your coverage, but to also understand what the policy actually covers for you.
If you have a lot of money tied up in accessories, you should look into paying for additional accessory insurance. Make sure if you have $25,000 or $50,000 worth of upgrades that you find yourself the appropriate additional coverage for those upgrades.
Mike also discusses what to look for if interested in purchasing a crashed Harley Davidson.

Great video! Very informative. Thanks!!
What do you do with just the standard proximity key fobs? The ones that are like air tags with no buttons?
Excellent video
Reverse on the transmission is the way to go. Electric reverse terrible waste of money
very good content here, thank you for your knowledge-
Nt
I like your videos but I disagree with some of what you I own a88softailand it's on its second time around the clock it's been absolutely bullet proof delcron cased I've done absolutely nothing to the engine I brought it at 98 thou. my m8reckons it's just run in absolutely love evos that much I just bought a 90fxr love em
Can you add more detail about wiring rear speakers? Have a 2011 Ultra Limited. Not sure how to determine which wires are the rear speakers. And, not sure where to splice once I do know which are the correct speaker wires.
You don't have to go through the remove the negative cable stuff. Remove the positive lead. Pull the battery out as far as it will go. Lift the end of the battery up and it will give you enough room to remove the negative line from the battery. I have done this many times as I remove the battery at the end of every season.
Seems to drop into neutral easier when I've got my clutch in and I rev the engine up a bit. Mine seems to stick more when I'm coming to a slow stop.
Would like to see a video like this for the XL Evolution.
I will use a tts 150 or a cycle rama 480 Mt in my 2023 streetbob114
I have a Woods 222 in my 107 and it made a beast emerge from that power plant. It’s awesome (read AWESOME) and I love it!
Sir, this video saved my bacon. I've looked high and low for the torque spec on my 2020 FXST rear axle and could not find it anywhere. Simply don't have the scratch for a manual right now. Thank you!
How do you check the radiator fluid?
Where are parts 2, 3 and 4?
You’d be surprised how hard it is, to find an image ANYWHERE on the net, that you show at 11:40. You will never have any idea just how much you’ve helped me out with that. Including days scouring the net and buying the poorly illustrated Harley work shop manual. So thank you.
Getting ready to do this. Thankfully wiring is already routed through the bars, but the bars are for a brand new road glide, and I'm putting them on an older softail. Brand new 16" Dominator 1.25 Meathooks for 200 bucks? Oh hell yeah. Soldering and heat shrinking all my wires with silver solder. I solder everything, even installing my car stereos.
I am installing them on my 1700
Long trips =earplugs
$80 million in 1981 equals $288 million in the summer of 2024.
Off topic but I was looking for the finish product video of your guys Harley sportster cafe racer.
lol love the zoom in on the horn when talking about the carb.
Finally a video that tells you what ur looking for
Awesome. It’s necessary to put some copper grease?? It’s helpful ???
Imho, it might make removal down the road a PITA… I never had one leak I just install them dry.
Fix my hog helped me transition from BMWs to M8 & EVOs. This channel and a service manual make maintenance saved me serious $.
Great video . Thanks 👍
Buy an Indian and just ride it
Changed my rear tire and now I can torque my rear axel bolt to the correct settings and now I feel safe thanx to you...
That endless list of other things is what I am interested in. I've tried re-jetting and cleaning the carb with no success. I thought I had all intake manifold leaks fixed but tomorrow I want to hook up some low pressure compressed air and check for leaks with soapy water. $10.00 of plumbing supplies today got me a way to connect air pressure to the intake. I know my VOES switch is bad. Waiting for the part. I put vacuum to it with a hand pump and it would not hold vacuum. If it was working, I believe it would hold a few inches of mercury and I should also be able to hear a not very loud click. I put in new spark plugs. Sometimes it runs perfect, but when it wants to go into its fits it will do that. So, I am interested in that endless list of other things to check. If I have a good VOES and it's hookup up right, no manifold leaks and no vacuum leaks, that will be a good start, but what else? I just don't know where to go from there. Part's cannon? New plug wires, then coils, then ignition? Do I really have to go that route? I just don't know what else it could be. I believe it's getting plenty of gas from the tank. Sometimes it will run full throttle just fine, but it doesn't like running right off of idle, cold or hot. That might be the VOES maybe. I just don't know. What it will do fine sometimes is go down the road at 60, and sometimes it will run at full throttle just find too. It just doesn't like getting there, but once there it will run fine at full throttle. I just don't know, and it likes to idle well with no change, ever, which is why I doubt it has air leaks from the manifold, but I want to know for sure.
Don't forget to move that rubber stop on the frame forward so the kickstand hits it.
Hi Steve. Excellent video. I have a '23 Low rider S and was wondering if you recommend an external breather on the 117. Don't want any problems in the future. M8's are new to me. Used to my '79 Superglide shovel. Thanks. Enjoy that beauty.
My '99 TC 88 FXDL is better than the '95 FXDL I had before. It's going to be a project whether you buy new or old. First thing to do is take off all the junk people stick on, it's a free upgrade.
They made a butt load of 47's, I've got one in the basket so parts aren't that hard to find ( just need a butt load of money) thanks for taking the time to educate the rookies. Old H-D'S are works of art.
Color is for the Shaft size of the pinion shaft you can't use any color only the color for your bike . your bike engine uses a yellow and only yellow . white or red will not work .
Correction here. If you fall below the specified distance, ie 1.5 inches when the minimum is 2, this means your bearings are too LOOSE, not too tight. The sooner the wheel falls away the looser the bearings are. If you move forward with this being too tight and loosen the bearings, you will find you made it worse. Low number bearings too loose, high number bearings too tight.
i love ratty bikes that have their owners hands all over them
👍
So does the fatter and go towards the cylinder and the more points it and pointed in goes out? That’s the question I have
Somehow I managed to move forward with my kickstand down and it made an awful noise and now it's got me worried about flipping the bike over
1400cc bored out evo with 3 speed transmission I want to buy this bike what do you think?
1990
Haha! Every bike I’ve inquired about that had a rebuilt title, has always had an unbelievable amount of nothing really wrong with it prior to repair. Always just some basic cosmetic stuff. One I saw just a little while ago claimed the paint was burned on the bike because of another vehicle that was nearby or next to it that caught fire. All it needed was some new paint! They couldn’t believe it themselves!
Another MAJOR point to look at relative to insurance is what happens if you need medical. For instance, you are in an accident and up with 500K in bills and a yearly cost of $100K a year for the rest of your life. In MI, you, the injured one, are responsible for those costs. There is no longer any type of medical coverage on a motorcyclist here. Understand your insurance for the worst-case scenario.
Thanks for all the detail. Always like the Pan and am going to have a look at a 1964 Duo Glide that an old guy is thinking of selling. This video is a great help. Cheers 😎🇦🇺
Whats next if the i disconnected the back switch and i action the front switch and light remains on? Still faulty front switch?

I have both side illuminated with ign off on light fuse terminal. Any idea?
Nice explain . Thanks
No such thing as a pin number. I checked with the United. U.S.M.C, the F.B.I investigation, and the C.I.A. agency.
Hard facing, in heat treating it's called CASE hardening. It's when you expose the outter metal layer to a high amount of carbon. Maybe 5 thou thick
Cool. Right on
